I have a BA in graphic design and my body of work encompasses illustration, comics, tutorials, digital games and children's books, but above all I am now a calligraphy artist based in London. I learned the essence of the ancient Kufi script from master calligrapher Samir Sayegh, in Beirut, through years of close collaboration. With him I learned to breathe new life into a traditional art, not merely copying or reviving its old forms but finding a contemporary language for it. The resulting calligraphic mandalas evoke the magic that comes through when form and meaning are one.
