Malaak marathon DONE

Journal Entry: Mon Dec 22, 2014, 5:07 AM

The marathon has ended! Tomorrow I get back to work, but I have managed to pencil and ink the entirety of volume 6! All I need to do now is colour, which requires less focus so it'll be easier for me to sneak in some work on the comic so that updates are not so spaced out and the saga closes no later than this year :excited: Thanks for the support and expect a couple new ones within the next few days...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!
I decided some time ago that I was going to take advantage of the holidays to catch up on my poor comic. I'm not flying home this year, but am still going to rest from my all-consuming art practice and take advantage of the season to have a Malaak marathon. That's about 12 days of single-minded comic-making. We'll see how much I manage to finish, here's my progress:

Starting Dec. 21:
Pages to pencil: 0
Pages to ink: 0
Pages to colour: 36

"One of the fundamental conditions of happiness is to know that everything that one does has a meaning in eternity" - Titus Burckhardt

I trained in graphic design and my body of work encompasses illustration, comics, tutorials, digital games and children's books. I was apprenticed to a master calligrapher for several years and I am now settled in London, UK, where I am dedicated full-time to my own calligraphy, going deeper into the potential of the ancient art of the Kufic script, which I also teach, while pursuing illustration for my own pleasure. I'm also an avid cook and baker, and all-time animal lover, with a passion for ethnography and a history of globetrotting.

You'll find my work on my dual website, Majnouna (calligraphy) / Cedarseed (everything else). My CV is here.

While the cookbook makes its slow progress, what kind of recipes would you like to see posted?

Hi, I'm a huge fan of your tutorials on human types, but I was wondering if you were ever planning on doing one that focused on western types? I know you have similar types in your Caucasian guide, but I would find it very useful if you made one including different regions of Native Americans, Hispanic peoples, Inuit, and maybe even some races from South America?
Just an idea, but I hope you think about it.
