For us Pakistanis load-shedding is synonymous with 'Azaab'. In the summers we have like 12+ hours of load-shedding (22+ hours in rural areas). Thank goodness it's only 6 hours a day these days.
The lights are off until the power returns (we have several hours of blackout a day). It's an aspect of daily life that's illustrated earlier in the book
Hahah, we're about to have our scheduled blackout in 10 minutes!
(I love this comic by the way!)
Thanks!
We call our president an Azaab too
