It seems circumstances conspire to inspire me for my transition pages: this one was born from my brother's demand that he appear in the story saying "WELAANEH!" I don't know how I'm managing to indulge my people without disrupting the story flow :lol:

This page features my brother Kim and my friends Raffi (who actually is a peace worker and a stage actor to boot, with a humongous crush on Malaak) and Hassan (whom I have to thank for his army pics!) The three don't actually know each other, but I'm sure they'll bond over this ;)
Of course, it was only a matter of time before our own neighborhood showed up as a background somewhere...

Vocab notes:

Ya Allah aaz-zaha': Oh God, the boredom!
Eop, shabeb!: Yo, guys!
Welaaneh: We haven't figured out how to translate this, but loosely it means "it's fired up", and expressed something like "the roof's on fire!" (if that makes sense...) Anyway, Kim is overly fond of the expression...
Khalleeke shwey wlo: C'mon, stay a bit!
Kol hawa: Eat wind. A polite substitution for something else I'm sure you can guess

i love Raffi's sarcasm and the Kol Hawa thingy :P so much slang language i'm starting to be addicted to this ! it's just like ... WooooooW!

Welaaneh (How do you pronounce it?)...Here's an old-school party chant:

That's where I got "the roof is on fire" from :XD:
I can't describe the pronunciation, it involves a sound completely unknown to non-speakers :( It's close enough if you pronounce it well-AH-neh.
