While posting on my blog about the work process I realized the original top color really made the whole thing look a lot more attractive, so I reverted to it. See the full progression on this blog post [link]
I had a very hard time deciding on the layout, then on what the characters should be doing, but I'm finally satisfied with it, intriguing (I hope) but without giving away too much. Now as usual I need your reactions and feedback, since the cover needs to be the best part of the book. The colors in particular have me uncertain but I need a fresh eye.
