Mother and grandmother bring their newborn girl to the Meiji shrine, Tokyo. Captured in a split second as we were leaving – the peripheral blur is a Lensbaby effect. I can't decide which photo I like best between this one and the next one which I'll post in a moment.

This is so lovely !
I love this tradition of bringing the baby daughter to the temple, all clad in a full-grown child kimono. I bought such kimonos for both my daughter, when they were babies. And now the older one wears it all the time.

Heading to Tokyo in one month, I hope to see as much as you did.

Tokyo was astounding (as it should), but even more so as we were right in time to see the solar eclipse there.
