Quick food: Moroccan orange salad by Majnouna Quick food: Moroccan orange salad by Majnouna
:pointl: Check out the book!

I have to admit: I was very skeptical of this. I couldn't believe oranges and olive could possibly be edible together. I was amazed at how the spices made them work together. This is such an easy and healthy salad! I didn't pit the olives and I think it's better not to, so their taste doesn't take over completely in the bowl. Just chew mindfully.
Also, never, ever buy pitted olives. Pre-pitted olives taste like wet cardboard. They're not worth eating!

My biggest obstacle to making and eating this is the fact that olives are scarily salty. Does the citrus cut that horribly salty taste to a tasty level?

They're not. There are many different kinds of olives with many different tastes. However, if you don't like olives then there's not much point in making this is there?

I don't dislike them all the time, they're delicious in stuff, like pasta sauce and on pizza. Maybe I just need to try something new. and avoid the uber-nasty canned olives.

I just tried that yesterday and it was suprisingly delicious. But the black olives tasted funny in this salad, I prefered the green ones.

There are many different kinds of black and green olives, so by all means use those you like :)

I just bought pitted olives! It'll be my first time trying them. I'm going to make a modified version of this. I'll put lettuce, cucumber, balsamic vinaigrette, and clementines instead of oranges.
