Quick food: Shrikhand by Majnouna Quick food: Shrikhand by Majnouna
:pointl: Check out the book!

This Indian/Central Asian dessert actually requires overnight refrigerating, so not to be done at the last minute, but it takes literally 5 minutes to prepare, so it's real easy to put together just before going to bed for a morning treat, or while waiting for your morning tea to brew so it's ready for an afternoon gathering. Thickening is optional – I use labneh and the resulting consistency is just right!

Is it okay without the almonds? (I'm allergic)

Hmmm, would Agave Nectar be a good replacement for Acacia Honey if it's not available?

I don't think it can hurt, the honey's just there for sweetening, and acacia is specified because it doesn't have a taste that interferes with the subtle spices. It's quite safe to experiment, the only real side effect is it might make your yogurt much more runny, but you can either thicken it as indicated or enjoy it from a cup :D

I always loved Acaica honey expecially as a drink by mixing it with water as a child.
Too bad it's not a common thing here in the US.

You can use different honey, what matters is for it not to have a taste that would overwhelm the subtle taste of saffron :)

You do such an awesome job with these! You've probably already answered this question a billion times, but are you planning on making these into some sort cookbook? I think it could do really well as one!
